Collection: LATE BLOOMER

“It doesn’t matter when you bloom. It matters that you do.” -The Secret Sisters.

This lyric sparked my creative spirit. It hit different in this season of my life. The album notes on 'Saturn Return' confirmed my feelings of evolution into the depths of mid life. The journey we take as women in these magnificent, God created bodies is not usually mapped out in a way that is celebrated. The note, especially speaks to “the inevitable changes, the loss of youth and the feelings of invisibility.” How do we transition to still remaining purposeful in a world full of negativity towards the aging process?

This collection began with a garden… my mother’s. It is filled with beautiful, purple coneflowers. They stand strong, unashamed to boldly expose their bright, prickly centers. Their colorful petals joyfully surround and support the tiny wings that visit.

As aging women, we are not unlike a field of late summer wildflowers. A landscape full of beautiful, strong, flower species. We live among the weathered stalks, the overgrowth and the weeds of our stories. Each in different phases of blooming. From tiny buds to reseeding the soil. It’s a cyclical journey for us all.
